A tale of a savage land.

Because I’m not prone to taking it easy on myself, I have two campaign proposals for the first of the year. I already discussed a 43AD game about Roman legionaries in 1st-century Britannia. If all goes well, that one will run concurrently with another 43AD game using the Warband supplement.

In the shadow of the eagle, war is never-ending.

Blood and Ash is a gritty, action-packed campaign set in the wilds of Roman Britain ten years after Queen Boudicca’s revolt. As members of a warband of Britons, you’ll navigate the brutal realities of low-level warfare against the Roman invaders while facing dark, pagan forces lurking in the shadows. Each session brings a fresh story of intrigue, combat, and rising stakes as you shape the future of your people. Will you hold to your oaths, or will blood and ash be all that remains? Step into a world where survival demands cunning, courage, and a touch of savagery.

I wanted to allow players to choose either side in this centuries-long struggle. What was meant to be a simple conquest to boost the stature of Claudius I’s struggling rule turned into almost four hundred years of bloodshed and heartbreak. How could we leave the tribal Britons out?

I’m still deciding how much story overlap I want. I like the idea of players in one game affecting the players in the other, so we’ll see.
