No, you can't.
One thing about the platform where I blog: it’s full of people with superhuman abilities. It’s true. They’re smarter than everybody else and more perceptive than anybody else, and generally they know better. But the best ones are the ones who claim they can spot AI writing without any of the AI writing “tells.”
No, they can’t.
Someone with a recent popular post actually claimed that reading a blog that contained none of the so-called tells was clearly generated by ChatGPT. So, not only is this person claiming they have an ability even machines don’t have, they’re so good they can even tell which LLM it is. Amazing.
Look, you don’t have to like AI. You can even hate AI. But it does your position no good to stretch the truth. Is there writing that has a mechanical feel? Sure, but some people write like that, and they always have, even before the advent of Grammarly, ProWritingAid, or a dozen other tools that help smooth rough text into something more standardized.
And let’s face it, a lot of writing you find online is crap, but the vast majority of it is all us, baby. Human beings are dumping text into the endless maw that is the internet. Such has it been, so it shall always be. And the AI stuff, which is already good, will keep getting better. It won’t stop the human AI detectors from claiming otherwise, but whatever.
