One shot, one kill
I keep my gaming schedule on a spreadsheet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In addition to playing games with my friend circle, I host monthly movie nights and a book club, so I have to keep things organized. I need to know approximately how long something will take and when it’ll happen. That’s worth a little nerdy indulgence.
This is why I already know which two games I’ll run on Sundays after the first of the year. I talked about them earlier, so if you’re curious, the answers await. I’m moving onward.
I usually play on Wednesday nights, but increasingly, I find Sunday afternoons more attractive. I’m still enjoying a respite from work on Sundays, with no other commitments, so why not add some fun? But, then, my Wednesdays are left unloved! I can’t do that!
Because my 43AD games require more substantial prep, I needed a small campaign with straightforward storylines, maybe for one or two players. Inspired by the novel War of the Rats and the film Enemy at the Gates, I developed a concept in which players assume the roles of Soviet snipers fighting Germans on the shattered battlefield of Stalingrad.
I’m still deciding on this one, but I think it’s doable and would be fun. I’d use GURPS WWII for the ruleset, especially since it already has a sniper template. Then, I’d stage some head-shooting action and high-stakes interpersonal drama. It could be fun!
